Abstract
The purpose of this study was to explore students' experiences in using Quizizz as an assessment tool for reading comprehension in English class. This study involved
six 11th grade students from a high school who participated in reading comprehension assessment through Quizizz. The researcher utilized reading comprehension as a form of assessment, which was integrated into the Quizizz platform to explore students’ experiences. This study used a qualitative narrative approach with data collection through semi-structured interviews and reflective journals. The data were then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to
understand students' experiences related to several aspects of reading comprehension, such as understanding the main ideas, supporting ideas, identifying details, vocabulary usage within context, making inferences, and recognizing
grammatical features. The results showed that almost all students had positive experiences while using Quizizz as assessment tool. As reading assessment tool, Quizizz provided students for several aspects, namely understanding the main ideas, contextual expressions, making inferences, identifying details, supporting details, vocabulary usage within context, general experiences, teacher guidance,
and student feelings. However, students had negative experiences when using Quizizz in several aspects, namely main ideas, drawing conclusions, and grammatical features. These findings indicate that Quizizz can be a meaningful way
for students to engage in reading assessment and build motivation. However, student reflections also show that this platform works best when combined with teacher guidance and other classroom strategies. By integrating Quizizz into
classroom practice, teachers can improve students' reading skills and motivate them.
